On occasion of the International Women’s Day, Kuwait Society for Human Rights launches motion graphics technology videos as contribution in the process of raising the awareness about the women’s issues in the society.
The videos, which are prepared as part of Takamul project for reinforcing the gender equality in the Kuwaiti society and funded by the U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative, discuss number of topics related to the women’s issue in Kuwait, especially the issues required to be defined or its mechanism to be informed.
Some videos addressed the Law No. (16) of 2020 on Protection From Domestic Violence, as these videos defined the law and its concept towards domestic violence, the mechanism for reporting the violence, and the measures that shall be taken upon receiving a report or exposure of someone to domestic violence. Other videos tackled the political participation of women in Kuwait in terms of local concepts and procedures towards supporting women for political empowerment.
Furthermore, the videos discussed the concept of gender, whereas they presented a simplified definition of the term as an attempt to eliminate the confusion that flaws the concept among many of society’s members. The recipient can form a general idea of the term and other issues addressed by the motion graphics videos. They further discussed the updates on the housing issue for the Kuwaiti divorced women.
International Women’s Day occasion constitutes an opportunity to introduce the women’s issues and achievements at the local and international level. This occasion is being celebrated annually on March, 08th.
The videos will be posted on the Society’s accounts on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram during the current week, and they all can be watched through the following link:
